How to Install Mods in JustLauncher

Minecraft JustLauncher установки

If you're tired of playing vanilla Minecraft, in this guide we'll walk you step by step through how to install mods.

Step 1

Open the "Installations" section and hover over the installation you want to install mods into. Then click the three dots and open its settings.

Step 2

You're now in the installation settings, under the "General" tab. You need to choose a mod loader — you can't use two at once. We recommend not installing beta and alpha mod versions, since this can cause problems. The mod loader offered will match your installation's version. Don't forget about OptiFine — it noticeably improves your game's performance and has long proven itself as a great addition to your game. If you can't decide on a loader, here's a short rundown of them:

  • Redstone Dust Forge: If you're looking for a deep, extensive modding experience, prefer complex mods with a wide range of features, and are willing to sacrifice some performance, Forge may be the better option. It provides many tools and capabilities for playing popular mods such as "IndustrialCraft 2," "Ender IO," and "Applied Energistics".

  • Diamond Fabric: If you value performance and want to experiment with mods without a big impact on gameplay, Fabric might be the better choice. This loader leans more toward client-side mods, with popular ones on it including "Litematica," "Essentials," and "Figura." It's built for a lightweight experience, delivering good performance even with several mods installed. It can also be a better fit for beginners thanks to its simpler, more straightforward structure.

Ideally, search for the mod or mods you need first, and choose your loader based on that. For example, Fabric doesn't support IndustrialCraft 2.

Step 3

You'll now have access to the Mods tab. Here you can see your mods, which you can remove or disable using the toggle. If you want to add mods that can't be downloaded from the mod browser, or your own custom mod, you can simply drag the mod file into this window. You can also use the mod browser right from the launcher — click the Add button to do that. We'll cover the browser in the next step.

  1. Remove. Remove the mod.
  2. Disable. Disable the mod without removing it.
  3. Add. Add mods from the mod browser.
  4. Drag and drop. Drag mods you've already downloaded on your PC into this window.

Step 4

Now that you've clicked the "Add" button, the mod browser opens. Here you can choose which site to download mods from and use search to find a specific mod. Once you've made your choice, you can download the mod by clicking the "Install" button, or go to the site the mod will be downloaded from. Some mods can't be installed from the launcher due to restrictions — in that case, just download the mod from the site and follow the manual installation instructions from Step 3. All the mods you install will appear in the screenshot from the previous step.

  1. Choose which site to install mods from.
  2. Search. Use the search bar to find a specific mod.
  3. Install. Download the mod into your modpack.
  4. Three dots. Open the mod's page online.
  5. Filter. Find mods by filter, for example Magic.
  6. Sort. Sort mods by popularity or downloads.

Summary:

You can install mods either manually or through the browser, but we still recommend using the latter. The system will install the mod into the right folder on its own without damaging any files. If you run into crashes or other mod-related problems, check the following:

  1. Whether you're using a release version of Forge & Fabric
  2. Try disabling some mods using the toggle
  3. Paste the logs from the launcher's console into this website
